Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - Topcon Positioning Systems revealed a number of innovative machine control, safety, and surveying solutions at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026, all geared at increasing productivity in earthmoving, paving, and building projects.
The company's 3D-MC machine control platform has received updates, including 3D-MC Edge, which focuses on a machine's cutting edge to increase grading accuracy for scrapers, box blades, and dozers.
New excavator features include Slope Control, which automatically changes bucket orientation based on digital design models, and Hybrid Lock, which maintains machine navigation by switching between robotic total station monitoring and GNSS when signal disruptions happen. A new onboard load weighing system has also been implemented to increase truck loading efficiency and avoid overloading.
Topcon also demonstrated the GTS-M1 robotic total station for precision tasks like grading, milling, and paving, as well as the Topcon Awareness System, an AI-powered camera system for detecting obstructions surrounding equipment.
In addition, the business created Topcon Origo, a portable positioning device built for interior construction planning that employs spatial reference maps to overcome the line-of-sight restrictions that standard optical instruments confront.
