Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - Iratrac, Caterpillar's authorized distributor in Iraq, has delivered five Cat C15 diesel generator sets to a client in Basra, totaling 2,500 kVA of rated power capacity.

Each generator produces 500 kVA and is driven by a Caterpillar C15 diesel engine. The units are intended for industrial power applications, supplying energy for facilities that need consistent onsite production or backup power.

The Cat C15 generator line is based on a 15.2-litre, six-cylinder diesel engine and is available in 50Hz variants ranging from 365 to 550 kVA. The units have integrated cooling systems, computerized controllers, and alternators that can manage varying electrical loads.

Iratrac is a member of Caterpillar's Mantrac Group, which distributes in many African and Middle Eastern regions. In Iraq, the company provides Cat construction equipment, power generating systems, spare parts, and maintenance services.

The delivery improves Iratrac's power generating business in southern Iraq, where oil and gas installations, industrial plants, and construction projects depend on diesel generators to provide main and backup power.
