Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - A new 142-kilometer high-speed rail line connecting the towns of Yerköy and Kayseri is under development in Central Anatolia as part of Turkey's larger investment in modern railway infrastructure.

The project, designed for speeds of up to 250 km/h, would cut travel time between the two cities from nearly 3.5 hours to less than one hour, while travels from Ankara to Kayseri will be reduced from about seven hours to about two.

The route will include 15 tunnels, 118 underpasses, 18 bridges, and two stops. Once operational, it is planned to transport up to 11 million people and 650,000 tons of freight every year, enhancing regional connections and promoting economic growth.

A joint venture between Doğuş Holding, Çelikler Holding, and Özkar Construction is carrying out specialist foundation works.

BAUER Maschinen GmbH supplies the works with a fleet of 28 units, which include BG 33, BG 36, and BG 45 drilling rigs, RG 22 S and RG 27 S pile drivers, and CMS 30 mixing plants.

The rigs are placing piles to depths of up to 30 metres using the Kelly drilling technique to lay the groundwork for bridges and viaducts along the route. In addition, the single column mixing (SCM) approach is being employed for soil stabilization, with mixing columns reaching depths of up to 31.5 meters.

The project's equipment was built at Bauer's Aresing factory and delivered within months of receiving the order. Bauer professionals are assisting with on-site commissioning and training, as is long-time service partner Karun Makina, who will continue to provide technical assistance throughout the project.
