Nooteboom and Rheinmetall Partner on Military Heavy Transport Trailers

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - Germany’s Rheinmetall and Dutch manufacturer Nooteboom Trailers have signed a cooperation agreement to jointly develop and supply military heavy equipment transport (HET) solutions.

The alliance will focus on the development, industrialization, and marketing of trailer systems intended to move big tracked and wheeled military vehicles.

The move comes as Europe's need for off-road transport options grows, owing to increasing heavy equipment deployment and continuing NATO procurement programs for tanks, infantry combat vehicles, and artillery systems.

According to the deal, Nooteboom will offer its experience in developing and manufacturing specialist trailers capable of carrying loads of up to 200 tonnes, while Rheinmetall will provide military vehicle integration, production capacity, and worldwide market access.

The collaborative offering will combine Rheinmetall MAN military tractors with customized trailer systems, allowing for the transportation of a diverse variety of heavy equipment, including armoured and technical vehicles.

The corporations said that the agreement is intended to boost their positions in military mobility and help the growth of Europe's defense capabilities.
