Dongfeng Secures 500-Pickup Order In Ghana

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - Dongfeng has received an order for 500 pickup trucks in Ghana, strengthening the Chinese automaker's footprint in one of West Africa's increasingly active commercial vehicle and heavy equipment sectors.

The order comes following negotiations with Dongfeng's local partners about product launches, market development, dealer channels, and aftersales capabilities. The OEM is also attempting to tailor its vehicle line to local needs and expand sales and service coverage outside Ghana's major cities.

The 500-unit agreement comes as Chinese equipment makers continue to develop in Ghana, notably in the construction, mining, roadbuilding, and transportation sectors. LiuGong has a strong presence in the market, and SDLG equipment is also available locally as Chinese manufacturers battle for a bigger portion of the country's machinery demand.

Other manufacturers are approaching the market with roadbuilding and earthmoving equipment. HMD has expanded its Tuboshu equipment offerings in Ghana, including the TG220-S motor grader. The 220hp machine is designed for road construction, grading, and site preparation tasks.
