Ni-Da Expands Mining Fleet With 165 Volvo FMX Trucks

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - The Ni-Da Group has received the first 25 Volvo FMX trucks from an order of 165 new vehicles, to increase its fleet for mining transport work across South Africa.

The new FMX units will be integrated into Ni-Da's side-tipper fleet, which services the mining industry and is one of the biggest such fleets in sub-Saharan Africa.

Ni-Da was established in Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal, in 1988 and has a fleet of more than 600 cars. The increased investment is projected to generate new jobs, including drivers and fleet support staff, and support the growth of the company’s trailer and tire workshop activities.

The Volvo FMX is designed for the heavy demands of mining and off-road operations with a high load capacity, durability and dependability in tough situations.

The 140 remaining vehicles are now being manufactured at the Volvo vehicles South Africa plant in KwaZulu-Natal and will be delivered throughout 2026.
