Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - Iraq's Buraq Al-Qimma is expanding its SHACMAN truck assembly facilities, which have an annual manufacturing capacity of over 1,500 trucks.
The Iraqi company manufactures over ten SHACMAN models, which include heavy-duty trucks, tippers, concrete mixers, and specialized vehicles for construction, logistics, and municipal use.
Buraq Al-Qimma refers to itself as SHACMAN's exclusive assembly agent in Iraq, offering vehicle sales, replacement parts, and aftersales assistance. Its industrial complex also has branding from Chinese bus maker Zhongtong.
The trucks are promoted as Made in Iraq, however the number of locally made components and actual yearly manufacturing levels have not been published.
The operation illustrates the expanding presence of Chinese commercial vehicle manufacturers in Iraq via local assembly and distribution agreements.
