DSV Partners With Hala Auto And EVIQ To Deploy Electric Trucks In Saudi Arabia

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - DSV has collaborated with Hala Auto and EVIQ to provide electric cargo vans and trucks to its logistics fleet in Riyadh, integrating vehicle supply with specialized charging infrastructure.
According to the deal, Hala Auto will deliver electric commercial cars adapted to DSV's transportation needs, while EVIQ will build charging stations at DSV's depots and give access to its larger public charging network.
The first deployment will concentrate on electrifying a portion of DSV's Riyadh fleet, with the three businesses coordinating vehicle selection, charging infrastructure, and daily logistical operations.
The move comes as Saudi logistics companies look for alternatives to diesel-powered fleets in the face of uncertain fuel costs and rising demand for low-emission mobility. Electric vans and trucks may cut fuel and maintenance costs, but total operational savings are dependent on vehicle use, energy rates, and charging availability.
For DSV, the alliance aims to reduce overall fleet ownership costs while also lowering emissions from its transportation operations. Dedicated depot charging will enable trucks to recharge in between delivery schedules, while EVIQ's network will provide additional charging choices.
The companies did not provide the quantity of electric vehicles, exact truck types, investment amount, or rollout schedule.
