Electric Trucks Debut At Oman’s Sohar Port Container Terminal

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - The first use of electric trucks in Oman's logistics industry was carried out in the container terminal at Sohar Port.

Fifteen electric terminal trucks are part of the first deployment, which aims to facilitate the shift to more automated and lower-emission port operations.

In line with larger sustainability objectives and initiatives to update port infrastructure, the vehicles are designed to increase operational effectiveness while lowering environmental impact.

The deployment is a component of continuous efforts to improve cargo handling and expedite logistical procedures at the port, which functions as a crucial regional commercial center linking international shipping lines.

According to officials, the action represents a rising trend in port operations toward cleaner technology, with automated and electric systems anticipated to contribute more to enhancing supply chain efficiency and lowering emissions.
