Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - Dubai Retail has introduced The Yard, a new retail and leisure destination at Palm Jebel Ali, as building and infrastructure work continue Dubai's massive waterfront development.
The Yard, set to open in 2027, will provide about 70,000 square feet of leasable space over 26 stores and services. The development will include restaurants, stores, fitness concepts, and daily services, and it is projected to serve around 20,000 people of Palm Jebel Ali and the nearby villages.
The news comes as Palm Jebel Ali's delivery phase progresses. Nakheel has been building important infrastructure across the development, including roadways, utility networks, electricity, and telecommunications infrastructure for the fringes and Spine District. More than AED750 million ($204 million) in infrastructure contracts spanning Fronds A to G and the Spine District are planned to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2026.
Residential development is also growing. In June, Nakheel delivered another 222 oceanfront houses at Palm Central Private Residences, contributing to the island's growing residential pipeline.
Palm Jebel Ali spans 13.4 kilometers and includes seven interconnecting islands, 16 fronds, and more over 90 kilometers of seashore. The project is being built as a significant new residential, hotel, recreational, and commercial sector, as part of Dubai's long-term growth into the Jebel Ali region.
