Ghana Receives Three Kalmar Reachstackers As Port Equipment Demand Grows

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - ALLOUD in Ghana has received three Kalmar reachstackers for container handling operations at the country's ports, expanding the company's portfolio of imported cargo-handling equipment servicing the West African logistics sector.

Global Shipping Center B.V. shipped and delivered the machines, while Forkliftcenter West Africa FZE assembled, set up, and commissioned them locally.

Reachstackers are used for lifting, stacking, and moving shipping containers at ports, container yards, and inland logistics hubs. Their capacity to handle huge containers in restricted locations makes them useful for cargo operations and intermodal transit.

The delivery demonstrates Ghana's ongoing need for imported material handling gear, as its ports and logistics providers expand container handling capacity. Reachstackers, heavy-duty forklifts, and terminal tractors are important pieces of equipment for assisting cargo movements and trade flows.

Forkliftcenter West Africa's engagement demonstrates the significance of local technical assistance for imported gear, notably commissioning, maintenance, and spare parts availability.

The firms did not specify the Kalmar models, lifting capacity, or contract value.

Ghana's increasing container commerce serves as a background for the delivery. According to the Ghana Ports and Harbors Authority, container throughput increased 27.8% to 1.7 million TEUs in 2024, with Tema Port seeing an additional 23.4% growth in the first eight months of 2025.
