Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has placed a major order for 400 MAN Lion’s City buses to strengthen the city’s public transport network. The deal was signed at the UITP Summit in Hamburg with United Motors & Heavy Equipment Co. LLC, the local MAN importer.
Deliveries of the modern 12-meter buses will begin in October 2025, with operations set to start in January 2026. Each bus features a Euro 6 engine, advanced safety systems, and a focus on driver and passenger comfort, aligning with RTA’s sustainability and efficiency goals.
This order builds on a longstanding partnership between RTA and United Motors, which began in 2008 and includes previous deliveries of NEOPLAN and MAN buses. Today, around 200 of those vehicles remain in service—some with nearly two million kilometers logged—highlighting the reliability and longevity of the fleet.
With this latest investment, RTA continues to modernize its public transport infrastructure, supporting Dubai’s ambition to become a global leader in sustainable urban mobility. The expansion of the bus fleet is expected to improve transit accessibility and reduce emissions, further enhancing quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
