Jeddah (PlantAndEquipment.com) - The first FUSO FJ truck has been locally assembled at the National Automotive Industries (NAI) facility, marking a new milestone for Saudi Arabia’s commercial vehicle sector.
The assembly was carried out in partnership with distributor Juffali Commercial Vehicles and expands NAI’s production beyond Mercedes-Benz Trucks, which have been built at the plant for more than five decades. The FJ is the second Daimler Trucks Asia product, alongside BharatBenz, to enter local production under the wider portfolio of Daimler Truck AG, which also owns FUSO.
The FJ is designed for construction, logistics and distribution markets. Officials said its assembly in Saudi Arabia will strengthen the Kingdom’s manufacturing capabilities, diversify its truck portfolio and highlight Daimler’s commitment to the local market.
