Otokar To Produce Mercedes-Benz Conecto Buses In Turkey

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - Otokar, one of Turkey leading automotive manufacturers, has signed an agreement with Daimler Buses to produce the Mercedes-Benz Conecto city bus at its factory in Sakarya. Production is scheduled to begin in September 2026.

The Conecto is a widely used conventionally powered city bus model in Europe and international markets. By partnering with Otokar, Daimler Buses said it will strengthen its production capacity while leveraging Turkey’s established automotive base.

The deal was formalized in Sakarya with the participation of Daimler Buses CEO Till Oberwörder, Mercedes-Benz Türk President and CEO Süer Sülün, and Otokar CEO Aykut Özüner. Otokar noted that the cooperation reflects its ability to meet international quality standards and its growing role as a global manufacturing partner in commercial vehicles.
