MAN Starts Electric Bus Production At Ankara Plant

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - MAN Truck & Bus has began mass production of its completely electric Lion's City E buses at its factory in Ankara, Turkey, taking another step toward increasing its zero-emission transportation capabilities.

The move adds Ankara to MAN's expanding electric manufacturing network, which already includes facilities in Poland and South Africa, as demand for electric buses grows.

The business said that the expansion would expand manufacturing capacity and improve flexibility in fulfilling customer demand, with the Ankara location anticipated to play a key part in its long-term e-mobility plan.

MAN has been updating the factory in recent years, modernizing infrastructure, optimizing processes, and educating employees to accommodate electric car production.

The Lion's City E, which debuted in 2019, has become an important product for the brand, with over 3,000 devices shipped and extensive popularity in European cities.

MAN said electric buses now account for a rising percentage of its sales, thanks to an expanded range that comprises various vehicle sizes and configurations for urban and regional transportation.
