Iraq Assembles First Batch Of Kia Field Vehicles

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - The state-owned automobile manufacturer of Iraq accomplished the assembly of an inaugural batch of 360 single-cabin field vehicles at the factory plant in Babylon, representing a significant breakthrough in the initiative to rejuvenate domestic vehicle manufacturing.

The trucks, a light pickup type developed in collaboration with South Korea's Kia, were manufactured by Iraqi workers through several manufacturing phases, including body assembly, technical inspection, and quality testing, as stated by the firm.

Every item was subjected to a road test under quality control oversight to verify adherence to established criteria. The batch signifies the first stage of a projected manufacturing run of 1,000 trucks, anticipated to conclude in the next months.

The state corporation stated that demand for the cars remained robust in the local market, attributing this to their durability and appropriateness for both personal and industrial use. It had previously manufactured in excess of 2,700 passenger vehicles and more than 3,000 pickup trucks.
