FedEx Deploys 14 Mercedes-Benz Electric Vans In UAE

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - FedEx Express recently added 14 Mercedes-Benz eSprinter vehicles to its transport and collection fleet in the UAE, signifying the company's first rollout of such vans in the Middle East.

The new electric vans will provide daily last-mile delivery routes throughout the United Arab Emirates. Each van has a cargo capacity of up to three tons and an anticipated range of 380 km on a full charge. FedEx anticipates that the fleet may reduce CO₂ emissions by approximately 148 metric tons yearly.

The implementation is part of FedEx's gradual transition to a 100% electric worldwide pickup and delivery fleet by 2040.

The UAE deployment helps efforts to reduce tailpipe emissions in last-mile operations and is consistent with the country's Net Zero 2050 plan.

In addition to vehicle electrification, FedEx has been investing in sustainable infrastructure in the UAE, including its hub at Dubai World Central, which features energy-efficiency technologies and electric car charging facilities, with ambitions to incorporate solar power.
