Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - The commercial vehicle industry in Asia has undergone a significant restructure with Daimler Truck's successful transfer of Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation into the newly formed ARCHION Corporation.

ARCHION formally started operations on April 1, 2026. The new company, which focuses on development, procurement, manufacturing, and logistics integration, unites Mitsubishi Fuso and Hino Motors under a single holding structure.

Daimler Truck and Toyota Motor Corporation are anticipated to possess around 25% of ARCHION.

After the deal was finalized, Karl Deppen became President and CEO of ARCHION.

The merger aims to accelerate cooperation in emerging technologies including fuel cells and autonomous driving while boosting competitiveness in Asia's commercial vehicle sector.

According to Daimler Truck, the merger is anticipated to bring in between €1.5 billion and €2 billion in cash for the business, supporting long-term operational efficiency.

Daimler Truck affirmed that it would go on operating in Asia under the Mercedes-Benz and Bharat-Benz brands despite the reorganization.
