Al Habtoor Motors Launches All-Electric FUSO Ecanter In UAE

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - Al Habtoor Motors has launched the next-generation FUSO eCanter in the UAE, introducing a completely electric light-duty truck designed for city transportation and last-mile delivery operations.

The car was introduced in Dubai as part of Al Habtoor Motors' ambition to expand emission-free commercial transportation options that align with the UAE's sustainability and environmentally conscious transportation goals. Customers and industry stakeholders were treated to on-site demonstrations and test drives during the launch event.

The eCanter will enter the UAE market after being deployed in territories such as Europe and Japan, where the model has amassed over 8 million kilometers of locally without pollutants operation. The most recent iteration has been designed for high-intensity use and hot climates typical of the Middle East.

The truck is based on an electric eAxle technology, which incorporates the motor into the back axle, minimizing mechanical complexity and increasing efficiency. A modular battery approach enables operators to configure the vehicle according on route length and payload requirements, with a variety of wheelbase and battery options available.

The eCanter is available in gross vehicle weight classes ranging from 4.25 tonnes to 8.55 tonnes, with standard and wide cab configurations suited for urban maneuverability and driver comfort. Charging is supported by AC and DC utilizing the CCS standard, with fast-charging capability allowing for a 20% to 80% recharge in under 40 minutes, depending on configuration.
