Saudi Arabia Launches King Salman Gate Project In Makkah

Medina (PlantAndEquipment.com) - Saudi Arabia has announced the launch of the King Salman Gate Project, a landmark urban development situated next to the Holy Mosque in Makkah. Designed to enhance the city’s infrastructure and visitor services, the project represents one of the most ambitious initiatives in the Kingdom’s ongoing urban transformation.

Covering 12 million square meters, the project will feature upgraded facilities for pilgrims and visitors while restoring 19,000 square meters of cultural and heritage areas. It is also expected to generate over 300,000 jobs by 2036, supporting both economic diversification and community development goals.

At full completion, the development will accommodate up to 900,000 worshippers across indoor and outdoor spaces, combining traditional Makkah architectural design with modern urban features.

This integration aims to preserve the city’s historic identity while addressing the needs of a growing population.
