Ohana Breaks Ground On $4 Billion Manchester City Yas Residences

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - UAE-based Ohana Development has broken ground on the AED15 billion ($4.08 billion) Manchester City Yas Residences is a prominent waterfront residential development in Abu Dhabi.

The gated community, located on Yas Canal near to Yas Island, will encompass around 1.67 million square meters and house more than 2,000 people. Construction will be carried out in stages, with completion scheduled for 2029.

The development has four- and five-bedroom villas, twin villas, townhomes, maisonettes, flats, and waterfront penthouses. More than 55% of the concept is dedicated to landscaped and green spaces.

A Manchester City training academy will be a key component, including football grounds as well as specific physical and tactical training facilities. There are also plans for a marina sports club, kayaking, paddleboarding, and sailing facilities, swimming pools, gyms, spas, and rehabilitation spaces.

The project is Manchester City's first branded residential complex abroad. Ohana is paying the project itself, with its in-house contracting organization handling most of the work.

The groundbreaking marks the start of building on the multibillion-dollar project, which is being developed around Yas Island and Abu Dhabi's larger waterfront areas.
