Construction Begins On Heritage Museum In Diriyah

Construction has officially begun on the Misk Heritage Museum “Asaan,” a major cultural project in the historic Diriyah district of Riyadh. The groundbreaking took place during International Museum Day celebrations and was attended by representatives from the Misk Foundation, Diriyah Company, and Zaha Hadid Architects.

Spanning 40,000sq m, Asaan aims to go beyond traditional museum formats by offering immersive cultural experiences, interactive exhibitions, and workshops that showcase Saudi Arabia’s heritage. Designed in a modern interpretation of the Najdi architectural style, the museum will also house a conservation lab, training center, and programs to engage the public in preserving and celebrating Saudi identity.

Asaan is a key part of Vision 2030’s cultural goals and will contribute to positioning Diriyah as a global heritage destination.
