Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - XCMG Group and Australia-based Fortescue have signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Beijing for the supply of electric mining equipment. Under the deal, XCMG will deliver between 150 and 200 units of 240-ton pure electric mining trucks to Fortescue from 2028 to 2030.
According to XCMG, the trucks will be used in Fortescue’s iron ore operations and are expected to meet nearly half of the company’s future demand for this truck category, contributing to its goal of achieving zero ground emissions by 2030.
The agreement is described as the largest export order for green mining equipment from China, underscoring XCMG’s expanding role in advancing sustainable mining practices and supporting the global shift toward low-carbon operations.
