Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - Pronto.ai has released two new versions of its autonomous haulage systems, broadening its capabilities to accommodate a broader variety of mining activities.
The new systems, Pronto AHS VLR and Pronto AHS VLR 360, supplement the company's current vision-based solution and are part of a tiered autonomy platform built for a variety of mining situations, including quarries and large-scale operations.
The launch follows the recent deployment of Pronto's vision-only system at a quarry run by Heidelberg Materials in Texas, where the technology moved more than two million tonnes of material in eight months.
While the vision-based system is intended for low-cost quarry applications, the latest VLR models include cameras, lidar, and radar technology to function in more challenging environments such as dust, fog, and poor visibility.
The VLR 360 version provides complete vehicle coverage with a 360-degree sensor system, allowing for safer operation in complicated areas with mixed traffic.
Pronto stated that the extended range enables operators to choose automation solutions based on operational needs while balancing cost, performance, and safety.
The new devices are intended to be installed across a variety of vehicle platforms, including huge mining haul trucks, with pilot deployments now ongoing.
