Komatsu Partners With Applied Intuition On Next-Generation Mining Autonomy

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - Komatsu has entered a strategic technology collaboration with Silicon Valley–based Applied Intuition to co-develop a software-defined vehicle and autonomy platform for its next generation of mining equipment. The initiative is intended to improve productivity, reduce downtime, and enhance precision in mining operations.

The new platform will combine Komatsu’s expertise in mining and off-highway autonomy with Applied Intuition’s capabilities in vehicle intelligence, operating systems, and autonomy stacks. Features will include software-defined architecture for continuous updates, adaptable autonomy from operator assist to full automation, and embedded AI for site-specific optimization.
