First Fully Electric Sandvik Mobile Crusher Sold In Africa

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - Africa’s mining and aggregates industry has reached a new milestone with the sale of the continent’s first fully electric Sandvik mobile crushing plant. The Sandvik UJ443E heavy jaw crusher, supplied through Sandvik Rock Processing distributor S&R Enterprises, has already been sold into the market as demand grows for lower-carbon and more cost-efficient operations.

The UJ443E is built on a fully electric track platform and can operate directly from grid power to reduce fuel use, emissions and noise. Where grid access is unavailable, it can switch to diesel or renewable biofuels. The unit is powered by Sandvik’s CJ412 jaw crusher and features advanced monitoring systems, an unblock function for improved safety, and three-speed electric tracks for precise positioning.

Hydraulic oil consumption is reduced by nearly 90% compared with earlier models, lowering both maintenance costs and environmental impact. A redesigned feed station simplifies servicing, while integrated electrical connections allow easy pairing with screening equipment.

The first unit for Africa is now being prepared for delivery, supported by local training and on-site installation assistance. Sandvik and S&R Enterprises have also confirmed aftermarket readiness through parts availability, technical support, and remote diagnostics via the Sandvik My Fleet system.

The introduction of the UJ443E marks an important step toward electrification across quarrying, mining and construction operations in Africa.
