Grove Unveils 700-Ton GMK8700 All-Terrain Crane At CONEXPO 2026

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - Grove, part of The Manitowoc Company, debuted its most powerful all-terrain crane to date, the GMK8700, at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026 in Las Vegas.

The new crane has a lifting capability of 700 t on an eight-axle carrier, increasing Grove's all-terrain offering and aimed for heavy-lift operations in infrastructure, industrial, and energy projects.

The GMK8700 has two boom configurations: 54 m and 80 m. Both use Grove's Megaform™ design with replaceable telescopic sections to improve versatility for various worksite needs. The crane, which has a luffing jib that can extend up to 107 meters, is intended to undertake difficult lifts that need long reach.

Transportation and mobility were important design factors. The carrier has MegaDrive® for better road travel, MEGATRAK® suspension, and adjustable axle groups for road and worksite conditions.

The GMK8700 incorporates modern technology such as the CCS 2.0 crane control system and improved MAXbase™ outrigger positioning system, allowing for optimum setup and real-time lift calculations.

The crane can lift up to 175 t of counterweight and uses slabs that are interchangeable with other Grove versions. It also has Variable Position Counterweight (VPC)® technology, which enables operators to alter counterweight location to boost lifting capability without increasing weight.

The crane contains the self-rigging MegaWingLift™ technology, which allows for installation without an auxiliary crane and reduces setup time on site.
