Hitachi Construction Machinery Increases R&D Spend

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) -  Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. (HCM) has increased its research and development investment, highlighting the growing role of innovation in meeting industry demands for digitalisation, decarbonisation and more efficient equipment. The company said the move reflects pressure to accelerate new technologies and provide solutions that go beyond traditional machinery.

HCM introduced its LANDCROS strategy in 2024 to broaden its focus from manufacturing to integrated solutions, addressing lifecycle performance, environmental goals and changing ownership models. At Bauma 2025, Hitachi Construction Machinery presented the LANDCROS One concept excavator, developed with Granstudio, as a demonstration of its vision for smarter and more sustainable construction equipment.
