Tadano Acquires IHI Transport Machinery’s Transportation System Business

Tadano Ltd. has completed its acquisition of the transportation system business from IHI Transport Machinery Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of IHI Corporation. The deal marks a strategic expansion of Tadano’s product offerings in the global lifting equipment market.

To facilitate the transaction, a new company, IUK Crane Ltd., was established in February 2025. Tadano acquired 100% of its shares on July 1, making it a wholly owned subsidiary. The company will be renamed Tadano Infrastructure Solutions Ltd., with Tadano President and CEO Toshiaki Ujiie also serving as its head.

The acquired business brings over 50 years of expertise in Jib Climbing Cranes, Port and Offshore Cranes, Wind Power Cranes, and Bulk Handling Systems. These assets complement Tadano’s existing portfolio, including its Lattice Boom Crawler Cranes, and strengthen its presence in construction, port, offshore, and wind energy sectors.
