XCMG Supports Launch Of Simandou Iron Ore Production

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - XCMG is one of several companies supplying equipment and support to Guinea's Simandou iron ore mining facility, which has officially began production after a commissioning ceremony at Morebaya Port. Simandou is recognized as one of the world's biggest and highest-grade iron ore reserves, and its debut is likely to have an impact on future global supply.

XCMG provided the site with around 400 machineries throughout the project's development, including cranes, excavators, rollers, graders, and electric mining trucks.

One of the electric variants in use, the XGE105, is said to consume substantially less energy than standard diesel trucks while producing more operational output.

The project is in a tropical climate with high humidity, increased temperatures, and difficult terrain, which puts extra strain on equipment and maintenance activities. XCMG equipment has been running under these circumstances with the assistance of the company's service staff, who are still on site to help with inspections, troubleshooting, and parts availability. These activities are also related to XCMG's larger worldwide service network.

The Simandou project is intended to have a significant impact on Guinea's mining industry while also contributing to larger regional and worldwide supply chains.
