Komatsu to Present African Development Initiatives at TICAD 9

Dubai (PlantAndEquipment.com) - Komatsu will participate in the 9th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9) in Yokohama from August 20 to 22, showcasing initiatives in skills training, technology, and infrastructure support across Africa.

The company plans to open a training center in Côte d’Ivoire in 2026 to develop construction equipment operators and mechanics for West Africa, with future functions including equipment storage, parts supply, and marketing.

On display will be construction equipment simulators and the PC200i-12 hydraulic excavator with 3D construction capabilities. Komatsu, active in Africa since the 1960s, says the projects aim to address growing infrastructure needs and support workforce development in the region.
