Caterpillar Launches Fuel-Efficient Cat 980 GC Wheel Loader

Caterpillar has unveiled its new Cat 980 GC Wheel Loader, designed for fuel efficiency, operator comfort, and ease of use across a wide range of applications. Powered by a Cat C13 engine with advanced emissions controls, the loader features load-sensing hydraulics, an on-demand fan, and the Engine Idle Management System to reduce fuel consumption and operating costs.

With a bucket capacity of 4.3–5.8 m³ and Cat Performance Series buckets, the 980 GC boosts productivity with smooth shifting, optional ride control, and improved material retention. Integrated with Cat VisionLink™, the machine allows real-time monitoring of location, usage, and diagnostics, while Cat Payload options support precise loading and efficiency tracking.

Built for comfort and safety, the cab offers excellent visibility, intuitive controls, and a standard rearview camera. Maintenance is simplified with grouped service points and optional autolube.
