Atlas Copco Launches 1MW Container Energy Storage System

Atlas Copco has launched its largest energy storage system to date—the ZBC 1000-1200—a containerized unit capable of delivering 1MW of power and 1.2MWh of energy. Designed for high-demand sectors such as construction, mining, ports, events, and emergency backup, the system offers a sustainable and cost-efficient alternative to traditional generators.

Built with advanced Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries and a robust HVAC thermal management system, the ZBC 1000-1200 operates reliably in temperatures ranging from -20°C to +50°C and at high altitudes. It supports electric, hybrid, and microgrid configurations, with the ability to parallel up to eight units for a total output of 8MW.

The plug-and-play system minimizes installation time and integrates seamlessly with generators from any manufacturer, enhancing generator lifespan while reducing fuel use, emissions, and maintenance costs. It also features Atlas Copco’s ECO Controller and FleetLink telematics system for real-time performance monitoring and energy management.

The ZBC 1000-1200 is now the flagship model in Atlas Copco’s expanding ESS lineup, which includes eight models ranging from portable 2kW units to this new high-capacity containerized solution.
